How To

Author: Randall Munroe
Rating: 4/5

I am a big fan of xkcd.
I also have it connected in my daily digest, that I read, without fail, every morning.

When I heard that the author of this iconic comic strip had also published a couple of books on scientific matters, I had to read them.

The book is structured as a manual on “how to” do certain things, mundane and not - for every chapter there are some underlying

And for the first half of the book, I was mildly disappointed, the approach to the questions, the resolution and everything in between was just absurd. I knew that the comic strip was going for that kind of humor, but when it’s condensed in a couple of panels it feels brilliant - but when it occupies pages and pages, at times, it just feels goofy and dorky.

However, I just needed to flex those humor muscles, by the half of the book, everything looked shiny and brilliant again. So if you have the patience to give it a try, you won’t regret it.
